Aboutproject
BRIEF The Rak'n'Roll Foundation has for years been fighting not only cancer itself, but everything that surrounds it — the fear, the silence and the isolation experienced by those who are ill. The phenomenon known as cancer ghosting — the disappearance of friends and family from the lives of the sick, often simply because they do not know what to say — is more common than we might think. The Foundation approached us with the need to create a space that would give voice to this difficult subject. Not as an advertising campaign, but as a genuine urban message — visible, alive and accessible to every passer-by. CHALLENGE The subject of cancer is still surrounded by silence — not out of ill will, but out of helplessness. People disappear from the lives of the sick because they are afraid of saying the wrong thing. We wanted to change that in a way that would reach as many people as possible and stay with them. Our response was to make the studio's largest wall available and to propose the motion mural format — because we wanted the message not only to be seen, but to live. To move, to catch the eye, to stop passers-by even for just a moment. RESULT In the very heart of Warsaw, at one of the busiest roundabouts — Rondo ONZ — a mural has appeared that says what so often goes unsaid. Words addressed to those facing cancer — simple, honest, sometimes difficult — appear on the wall at Aleja Jana Pawła II 20, reaching thousands of passers-by, drivers and passengers every day. Because sometimes a single sentence is enough to make someone feel that they are not alone.
